| My tank is all setup ready just the one conclusion, I can easy keep humidity up but as for temperature wise i'm using an infra-red 50W bulb connected to a mini stat 100 which the sensor is about 2 iches from the substrate (eco earth) in the center of the tank and a digital thermometer set 2 inch from substrate at the back of the tank pinned to the background if i set the temp on the ministat to say 26C it will reach that temp switch off which then cools down the tank to around 22-23C before kicking back in again is this okay? and do i need to do a cooler temp for the night or can i keep it on that rhythm. thanks all info will be appreciated | |

| The lamp going on and off shouldn't bother your scorpion, it'll spend most of the time down in a burrow, however, it may be distracting to you. I use dimmers with all my IR lamps and run them at a constant level (brightness). The enclosure temperatures fluctuate with the ambient room temperature, dropping to around 78F (25C) at night and rising to 85F (29C) during the day.
I should note that I only have a 10 gallon tank. For a large tank, you could probably place the 50W IR lamp on one end and use it without the rheostat. This will create a temperature gradient so your scorpions can choose between a warm side and a cool side. | |

| cheers mate very informative, think i will do what you said on the last part and keep the IR light in the back left corner and it can choose where it likes as the 50W IR heats up to around 30C down by the bottom of the tank where the scorpion will be in that corner, as same for night? and my tank is a glass 18"x18"x18" i would up load pictures if i knew how | |
