| Bah. My H. arizonensis has 31 teeth on the pectines. Anyone know of any other dimorphic traits for this species? I'm thinking female, but with a 31 count it could be either... Here are some pics.... | |

| A few other things to look for:
* When the pectines are in a swept back position, the first tooth on each pectine will almost touch in males. In females, they will be a noticeable distance apart. This is also related to the taper of the pectine where it attaches to the basil plate. Female pectines have a narrower taper than males.
* In males, the pectines will extend past the first joint on the fourth leg.
I would say you have a female. | |
