| He's about a year old and around 2 feet head to tail. Still pretty small. Maybe we can arrange a play date when they're older. Lol. | |

| just a year old? that's odd. mine grew from 19 inches to reaching almost 5 feet in less than 6 months time lol.. i feed mine a kilo of boiled chicken heads daily that sell for like half a dollars worth per kilo where i'm at. pretty nasty smelling stuff but the monitor seems to love it dearly and hence the length haha!
i'm planning to get a playmate for mine soon. they're gonna be humongous so i'm gonna be converting our old garage to something more suitable for them haha

| Well... You've been power feeding him, so yeah... he's growing quick. Lol. I haven't been. I feed him a mouse every week and crickets every day. He's also got fish in his water bowl that he munches on regularly and a lot of times I'll buy a lot of like 15-20 anoles that I throw in there for him to hunt. | |

| Hahahaha... Most def. If it moves he tears it up. You should see him hunt anoles... That's what he's doing in the pic where he's on the wires in the top of his enclosure. | |

that is not even power-feeding coz mine is not fat yet. if you've only seen the wild water monitors we have back in the Philippines, you'll see like really huge-bellied lizards sleeping in tree branches. now those are the power-fed ones that eats like 16 hours a day haha! hope there are anoles available for feeders here too.. all of my lizard-eating snakes would be sooo full if ever that happened lol - TheKevil wrote:

that's the only part i don't find cute about them.. i tried feeding mine live chicks and adult quails before but it likes stripping off the skin, making a 'bloody' mess on the wall that's why i took a friend's advice on feeding it boiled chicken heads | |
