Hey guys...I've just recently gotten back into the hobby and as such have been buying a few scorps in trying to build up my collection before winter closes the door.
The last scorpion on my immediate wish list, a gravid Rhopalurus pintoi arrived yesterday after 5 days in transit. Despite adequate packaging she was dead when i open the package. The 24hr heatpack was 96hrs to short.
A few days before this i received a gravid Hottentotta saulcyi that had only endured 3 days in transit. She was alive but clearly very cold so i left her alone for a few hours in a warmed room without unpacking her totally. After a few hours i went back in to her and could see that she was picking up.
She now seems reasonably normal although her activity level is very low - no signs of any disturbance in the sand. I lifted the stone and had a look at her yesterday and her movements seemed very slow which has got me wondering.

Could the embryo's inside her die because of the low temperatures without the mother being killed as well?
Or do you think my fears are ungrounded and her low activity is simply a result of her gravid condition?
