hello all. so an update on my new scorpion is in order i suppose, since i still have lingering questions. ive since changed the whole order of the tank. Besides keeping the water bowl to one side, i changed mostly everything. including the hide, vegetation, and added the amount of substrate. ive actually changed the tank multiple times and am wondering if thats bad for them becuase i still wanna change a thing or two. Also i havent noticed if he been drinking at all since the water lvl in the bowl doesnt change much. there was one time i found the water in the bowl really low the next day. Also wanna know if the plants i have in there are safe. ive got a small wad of cotton in the water as i was told to put in.(not sure for what) STILL HAVENT SEEEN HIM EAT! ive got crickets in the tank still. he pretty active. right now i keep the tank inside my room at night and hes really active. mostly hes hugging the wall/corners trying to get up. ive got more questions but cant think of em or they arent important to me. any suggestions are appreciated. thank you :)p.s.on the second picture u can see the crack i mentioned in an earlier post.

He looks healthy enough.. And the tank looks good.. How deep is the sub? Only thin I can imagine that needs attention. Otherwise good effort and result

i like how neat and tidy your viv layout is.nice job.

when you said you added amount of sub, what does that mean?
like Pluto said the sub doesnt look too deep.
if its less than 6'' id add more.
in my 10 gallon one side is 6'' and the other tops out at 10''.hahaha hey in the wild the substrate is perpetual.

how big is the viv?id add another hiding/burrowing spot, but then again i dont see room for that but no biggie.the water dish may probide a spot to dig under too. Smile

a cotton wad is redundant, its gonna build up bacteria and if the water dish is shallow you dont need it.if the water dish isnt shallow add some gravel to make it shallow.

if you want to make adjustments id do em now and leave it alone.they dont like you messing up the security of familiarity in their domain and adds stress to their lil hearts.

what is this crack you speak of?
also what do you mean you keep its tank in your room at night?where is it during the day?

The scorpion looks like hes doin good still. hes been active at night regularly but he still hasnt eaten. i tried giving him a half alive cricket with tongs tonight, but no go. i kept a half dead cricket along with a 100%hp live one in the cage with him too over two nights. i also ran into a problem today. after taking out the stick decor i have in the cage, i noticed there was mold growing on it Sad(D: so i took it out and am going to dry it out overnight i guess. so im asking is the mold from being too wet/humid? i stopped misting it, cuz the soil looks wet enough. i just keep plastic wrap on the lid over the tank. not sure if anything else is moldy either. any help on keep the mold away? soo @ pluto's Q: THe substrate level is about about 8in. on the high end where his hide is, and slowly declines to about 3-4in. near the water bowl. which i thought works. p.s. thx for reply Smile so @ shining's Q's: not sure what "viv" is but I would like to put another hide but not much room(i may dig a hole in the ground if that would work?) cuz he cant dig under the water bowl. took the cottonball out. and if u look at the pictures u can see a rounded crack on the right claw in center. so i keep the tank outside. right behind my room. on a patio of sorts. right in the shade. i do that cuz its niec n hot about 90. and i run the ac in my room in daytime.

mold will occur if the venataltion is rubbish i would say keep the plastic wrap to keep himidity up but would sugest you pierce a few wholes in, as ventalation is as important as humidity Smile
