2012 Ultimate Scorpion Wrangler Competition! (Also a 1 v 1)

WyattEarp4137 and I came up with the idea of a 2012 Ultimate Scorpion Wrangler Competition (name subject to change)! Rules and date are all pending if we can see a good amount of you guys are interested. We have also yet to bring this to admin attention because as previously stated, we want to see if a good amount of you would be interested.

WyattEarp4137 and I have a 1v1 competition of the same kind going on but on a smaller scale. Rules;

Herp Dates: 8/12/11 - 8/14/11
Photos of entries MUST be submitted by midnight of 8/14/11
No repeats of the same specimens and all captures must be live.
All sizes and genders are valid.

That is a rough draft of the rules and everything is subject to change if we get the forum wide competition going on. Prizes and what not are undecided but most likely you will just claim the title of winner perhaps on the main page of the forum. If you are interested in a 2012 competition then just say so that way we know it's worth going through the process of setting up. Post any questions as well.

For a current update to anyone interested in following this first competition between myself and Bedlam. At the moment he lags behind me 6-0 He is off as I write this to try to make up for lost ground. These are the current standings and will have changed by tonight. More updates later.

But what is this all about guys? Competition in what, Its very unclear to me :-)

What we have rolling right now is a simple (Whoever catches the most scorpions by midnight Sunday and posts pics to prove it wins) gig. We are both out scorpion hunting and trying to wrangle/photograph as many of the little monsters as we can by tomorrow night. We have to post pics of the scorps to prove we caught them all, no repeating the same scorp, any size or gender goes, and they all have to be the same species. I am after Paruroctonus Boreus and IDK right now what Bedlam is after. I think he may be after Centruroides Gracilis (hope I spelled that right) If we get enough interest (Via the vote up top) we will take it to Admin and try to get it approved to be an annual forum-wide competition. All in good fun and for the title of Ultimate Scorpion Wrangler for a year. Any other questions just let me know! Thanks guys! VOTE!

sorry to bring the bad news. there is no way you are going to be able to tell if someone reposts the same scorp or not unless they are different species or size. you can split em up into different pics with a different angle and wouldnt be able to tell unless one has a tattoo..your going to have to trust someone you never met before.and when you win you get basicly nothing.maybe a title stating your a raper of nature. besides your all screwed if i were to join this. because of where i live and i know the hotspots already.bwahaha.besides what are all of you going to do with said caught specimens?keep,sell,trade,set free?

Shining that has already come to our attention and me and Wyatt are trying to work on modifications of any kind. Also we are competing through an honor code which I'm sure we'll have cheaters but like I said, we are thinking of how to work it out. You can do whatever you want with what you find.

im not a fan of this comp but ill bring this idea up.you can to make sure no one is lying post pics of all the specimens in the same pic.

Shining: Woah dude, let's take it down a notch or two. lol It's all in good fun. Your idea of putting everything in one pic is good, but when you are in my position where I just don't have enough stuff to put eveything in for a "group photo" it can't be done. As Bedlam saisd this is on the honor system and for the small competition between the both of us right now I fully trust him. But as he said, I am sure we will have cheaters if we get this off the ground but if we don't I don't see why he and I couldn't do this again just to yank each other around a bit. Bedlam is right, you are free to do whatever you like with what you find if you join. I have kept a few and let most go but this is a competition that exists soley for any user involved to have fun with their friends and promote a little healthy competition. Bedlam and I do not have all the details worked out yet, which is why we did not try to make this official til next year, but we are indeed working on it and getting everything sorted out. You're right, you win pretty much nothing but does there need to be a prize for a bunch of scorp enthusiasts to go out and have a good time and show off their skills as a scorpion wrangler?
