This is a very large picture, but I thought it was worth it. A tiny, but cool little Parabuthus transvaalicus going rambo on me (youngster of Syl) Never saw it in a 3rd instar babyscorp..

This species is beast!

NONE! Still a white blob of bicolor freakzoid..
My own brood is completely redbrown bodied, and black pinchers as well as a jetblack tail.

I'm stumped. I believe at i4 it should be getting its allround black color. These still are white.

I have a.bicolors from different broods and they look different too.
One batch is 2i still almost 3i and it's like a yellow orangey color and the other batch is 3i almost 4i and it's pure white.

Hmm interesting. I have i2 newly born, almost black... i3 yellowish and i4 yellowish white..
Are the tail and appendages darker colored than the rest of the scorpion?

My yellow ones have almost white legs, whereas the dark ones are very dark on their legs etc...

[hopscotch] I'm outta here! Oh wait... [hopscotch]!!

I love when they do flips for their food. They just hold on and go for a ride! I also love when the cricket gets tagged and then gets away. You get to watch the effects of the venom.

NEATO!

Well, I thought they were too beastly to miss out on (the scorps, not the videos).

Pt are not as fast as Hottentotta (mind you these are still small ones, supposed to be i4 now, I doubt it though the seller was a real nice acknowledgeable guy) but they are equally brutal and when adult they're about 3x the size with the same attitude. Nothing to [does your mother know you talk like that?] with. As you can see, they're not scared when you put a light on them and basically take away their burrow in an instant.

These are the only scorpions I know, that dont get scared. They just watch and get whatever gets close. If its not 2x larger its dead.. simple as that. Something for the collection Shiner!

In the second vid (because of the poor quality you cannot see it) there was a big blob of cricketblood suddenly coming out of its neck after that sting where the scorpion went for the ride. I think there is a lot more force going on in those fights, than you can actually see.

I need that eos 5d m 2, but my [hopscotch] employer decided to give my bonusses later on this year. Cool!

And Mitchell, I was quite happy the third cricket finally felt the venom. That was a nasty piece of work! Had to retrieve it three times.

man [hopscotch] that cricket!

upon a second viewing of the vids i think i seen the blood.did it happen in the left corner or am i seeing things? drunken

I think it is the second movie, and indeed during the fight after the roll.. It was coming out of its neckpart. A big droplet of clear fluid.

You cannot see it on these clips, but it was there.. quite clearly. It died instantaneously too..
Tityus actually have an even weirder way of attacking... But nothing even remotely as brutal.

They do it raffinated lol

To be honest I think Parabuthus are more difficult to keep safely than Androctonus species. They are more active and always searching for trouble.
