baking decor

What temp should I bake any decor that I have gotten outside? How long to bake it for?

uh, i think 350-400 degrees F and for like 25-30 mins.

wouldn't that burn it ? will it turn black?

what sort of decor are we talking about. You can also boil it.

Or stick it in the freezer. I heard that's pretty effective.

well if you're talkin about a piece of wood then it might get charred a little (on the grill), but set it on a pan with aluminum foil and it will be fine. I've heard of boiling smaller pieces, but the oven allows for much higher temperatures. I don't know much about freezing, but i believe the oven baking is the most effective.

What happens when you take an insect and freeze it then unthaw it comes back to life right? Freezing does nothing but preserve, any bacteria will just be in a state of "limbo" till it unthaws. It won't kill any harmfull parasites or bacteria.

I've had a few things get a slightly charred smell but never "burned" in the oven. The stated time and temperature should work fine.

Same thing with boiling in some cases; you can't go above 212 Fahrenheit, but baking allows you to go much hotter (unless you pressurize your boiling apparatus -- that's why they invented autoclaves ).
