Scorpions as dangerous as dogs and horses?

I'm reopening what has been an age old debate on other forums. Many people have gotten angry at exotic animal regulations accross the globe. We wonder.... Why is it that horses and dogs have been perfectly okay and worry free on laws but inverts are often being regulated when dogs and horses are the main captive animal killers of humans in most places of the globe?

scorpions aren't as dangerous as horses or dogs, no scorpion on the planet will kill you if you take the proper precautions. they are only dangerous if you don't treat them with respect. on the other hand, you could treat a dog fine it's whole life, you could be best buddies, and all of a sudden the dog may turn on you and rip your arm off. it has happened.

much rather be stung by an LQ than kicked in the face by a horse. much less chance of dieing and can be treated much easier than putting your face back together like a puzzle...

There's regulations on dogs and such -- it's just usually breed-specific (which is ridiculous -- it's in how the animal is raised and treated, not what breed it is, that results in an aggressive animal) and not as heavily enforced as invert laws seem to be.

I agree, I hate it when people hate on a specific breed, what's the big hype with rottweilers? a lot of people hate these dogs, that really annoys me. but, certain breeds of dog need a lot more care, for instance a lot of dogs are very energetic and need a lot of exersize.. if you were to keep one in a flat and not give it much exersize it would drive you nuts. I have a collie/alsation mix, and we are really lucky we live right next to a forest and a field where he can run around. he gets us up at six every morning...

would prefer all horses be put on DWA and scorps taken off. horses are already popular so the DWA's price would be more flexible and if you were a pro horse racer it wouldnt make too much difference.

well why not?! they are way more dangerous and there is no way round being in the same room with them and putting tourself in direct danger... plus i hate horses... but thats just bias

I voted no. Been stung by the worst and would do it 100 times over before I let a horse kick me. I've also been bit by a dog....not fun.

or maybee a "you keep your horses away from me and clean up after them and let me keep buthids you ignorant government" liscence would be better?

I like horses. even though they do stink, but they are cool.

I voted more dangerous than toy dogs.

Reason: Toy dogs bites are usually not too bad (even many small non-toy dog bites are not too bad as long as you don't let them lay into you) and overall there is less risk to an allergic reaction than with being envenomated. Of course, the pain of a LQ or A. australis sting would be higher than the pain of a little toy dog bite.

Larger dogs can do some serious damage compared to most scorps so they are more of a risk than scorps. Horses are another league.... A horse can kill you pretty easily and unless you are armed there isn't much you can do to the horse. I am more afraid of my wife's horse than I am my A. australis or an LQ.

I dont think toy dogs were an option on the poll
