My Tank and its inhabitant(s)

This is a 40 gallon wide tank.
In far left I got a 100W day light bulb for the plants inside
Near right is a 75W red bulb
Left side of the tank is generally well lit while the right side, especially far right corner is pretty dark, shaded by the cactus and a piece of wood.

Cocofibre is the substrate with some peat moss on top and mixed in. Marble rock and beach pebbles are all around.

The Cave is a cut out of a plastic cup for the top and a marble rock as the entrance.

Inhabitant these days is a male emperor, but maybe more to come soon.

Comments, thoughts and ideas are more than welcome

them cactus really look nice

nice tank, but I'm not sure about the cacti.
The scorpion may climb them and get pricked, as they usually like to climb objects.
The cacti might just end up rotting, too.
I would suggest planting some pothos plants in there as emps in general are a forest species.
They have a lush green color and grow long vines, giving the setup a jungle look.
The plants also help a good deal with the humidity too, and survive well with low light.
I've planted them in my tank and they are doing and looking great in there.
One of the best things about them is that they are pretty fast growing plants, so you can actually
observe the progress of their growth.

oh so i thought the cacti was a great thing to add and i was just thinking of adding some into my tank but wouldn't they last in a tank? arent they hardy plants?

another question, would pothos plant able to withstand em scorps climbing them? i see their stem arent that thick

Yeah, they are hardy plants, but only under the right conditions.
Cacti and a forest environment with high humidity don't mix very well.
Remember, emperor scorpions are a forest species, too.
Not only that, I am afraid of the scorpion climbing it and getting pricked.

Simply buy pothos plants and put them right in. I had an ivy plant in there, but took it out. That pothos plant you see in the pictures has been alive for over a year. I hardly water it, too and I don't have to because the enclosure is damp and has high humidity, perfect for the plant. My tank is also placed next to a window so it can get the indirect sunlight.
You can buy smaller ones or large ones, but in the end it will give your tank that jungle feel, allows coverage for your emp, and boost the humidity for you, too.

its grew quite a bit so it clearly likes it in there

scorp used to climb it... dont think it hurt him at all
