| hello,
my dune scorpion has been out of his burrow for weeks now....
he catches crickets, kills them , but doesn't eat them.....
and today I picked him up and put him on my hand....
he was sluggish like he was dead but he's alive
he wouldn't even move
I don't know why he's dieing | |

| Sorry to hear about that. Best way to fill that empty hole in your heart is to get another one. Maybe a juvenile so you can enjoy more time with it. | |

| I assume that most of you as you are in the hobby have had many scorpions come and go. i can say with confidence that 95% of the scorpions i have lost i could not determine the cause of death. The ideals behind determining a scorpions death in most cases is incredibly difficult to do and seldom does the question ever get answered. My friend the other day asked why is A. australis died the other day. I looked at his set up he had it in it was a case of over heating i determined because he had it in a mini exo terra with a heat lamp on it even though it was a red light i imagine he cooked it to death. I would call this a human error. But on many cases one can do everything right and the scorpion can will still die. It might not have been eating, to much stress, or it could just be a complete mystery. Some causes of death are more easily determined like fungal infections, parasitic mites, molting problems, ans prey items eating the scorpion. Its an issue that is not easily determined | |
