| yup got invaded. 1 sub adult G.grandidieri is wounded, 1 sub adult.G.ankarana also wounded, all my T.stigmurus have literally been torn to pieces (ants are trying to make a nest in their enclosure). Everything else is ok but two of my R.junceus are in mid molt right now and luckily the enclosure is airtight. | |

| This attack on my favorite species will now convince me to eradicate every single ant on the planet no matter what the environmental effect is. I pray for your Grosphus ankarana and G. grandieri. Sorry about the Tityus stigmurus. | |

| Sorry to hear that.... I had to take on an ant invasion once too. Was the weirdest thing though.. luckily they were only sugar ants but they could have stressed my scorpion out. One summer two years ago I fed my P. Cavimanus and within thirty minutes they done made it into her enclosure and trying to steal her cricket from her. They were all over her and in the tank. Prior to that, there were no ants anywhere plus my invert room is upstairs..... They were coming in the window so I put down some ant repellant pellets and never had the problem again. | |

| I'm very sorry to hear about the scorpions who died. I know you're bummed out man, but I don't think you should give up on them. In fact, I'd like to buy you some more and have them shipped to you. Its the least I can do. | |

| [hopscotch]!! Do you have some hardcore ants over there or were they normal ants just raided the enclosure en mass?
Sorry to hear about your scorps

| Thank you, Patrick but there’s no need for that, I do appreciate the gesture. And yeah these were just average ants I’m not sure what attracted them I’ve always had issues with these ants if you use the search function and go back a few years I’ve lost many scorps to ants in the past. But nothing rare. All scorpions were checked up on the night before and fed my T.stigmurus all had caught their prey and were eating when I last checked on them. I can only imagine the ants invaded at night when I was sleeping because by the time I checked up on them they were already making tunnels in the substrate I saw some male ants (I think they were male, had wings) and I think I even saw one carrying a larvae…could have just been scorpion meat. Using the blacklight I could only find tiny little pieces of scorpion left. This was the most intact of the T.stigmurus. | |

| okay, so this is officially an all-out war vs. ants!!!!
i couldn't sleep so i did a random check-up on all my pets and voila! a single line of red ants.
they were starting to pester my H. paucidens, she may have been bitten, judging from what i first caught up seeing. so in revenge, i wiped them dead with one hand in a single sweep haha! good thing, no major damage was done. still wondering what they were after though. there was no smell inside the tub. haven't fed her for days now and there was no food remnants. they seem to be loving the substrate though >__<

| Yes I think it's the substrate attracting them they loved the compact cocofiber for tunnelling and it was moist and hot in there. I think now that the weather is warming up they're losing himidity. Last night I watered the lawn zero ants in the house. Either way I'm poisoning them thugh. As for my G.ankarana and G.grandidieri have visible bites but they're close to molting and they seem to be acting fine and normally not overly agressive (sign of injury?) and not groggy. They're both really close to molting so I think if they can make it to their molt they'll be fine. | |

| I actually had ants on the first and basement floors a couple days a go, but nothing on the second and third floors.
I remember when I had crayfish, I kept them in the basement, and ants would patrol the outside of the tank. Never worried though because I knew they would drown, and get eaten by the guppies.
What floor of your houses do you keep your scorpions? Maybe that has something to do with it, because as far as I remember, ants have only come to the third floor once, but there was so few, that they never came back.
