| I love the coloration on these but pretty boring species. But I've been keeping her at room temp. Now that I found a mate for her I turned up the heat so maybe I'll see her more active | |

| That scorpion is sweet lookin! Reminds me of an A. bicolor with a thinner metasoma. What is the venom rating on these guys? 3/5? | |

| They tend to stay huddled close to whatever heat source you provide for them as they light a pretty high heat gradient. They seem to have a relatively slow metabolism for a buthid and take a relatively long amount of time to mature. They're definitely not one for someone who is fond of instant gratification that's for sure. I'm glad you found a male for your lady. If you need any advice on in ends and outs on breeding this species, let me know.
@Mako: Their venom rating is "Ouch, that really burns and I feel a little gross". Trust me when I say that the composition of scorpion venom is much too complex to gain anything quantitative or qualitative from a scale ranging from 1-5. Besides, why does it even matter anyway?

| Awesome! Looks like you've found yourself a good sized group. I'm currently working on bumping my numbers from a breeding group of 5 to a breeding group of a dozen "or a bakers dozen" by the next generation. It's somewhat strange how socially tolerant these guys are to each other but will sting at a moments notice in response to the stimuli you produce. Also, make sure to be mindful of your hold backs for the following generation as these guys tend to produce in low numbers and have a relatively long gestation "for a buthid" | |

Purely a streak of good luck, my search was leading me to nowhere but dead ends. And then the scorpion gods looked down on me with pity and threw me a bone. - Quote :

I feel like these guys are some of tamest tempers I’ve seen on a buthid. They do go into defensive mode when I’m poking around or cleaning up but are more quick to run away than sting. One of my T.stimurus reached 5I and she stands her ground now too. The other ones just run around scared. Yeah I’m thinking of keeping 100% of the next generation just to get the best breeding group possible. Can you give me your best estimate as far as growth rate and gestation periods you’ve had in your experience?
