PostSubject: Encourage hunting   Encourage hunting Empty9/13/2012, 11:37 pm

ive seen in videos how they catch em in the open toss a cix in and before the it hits dirt its dead, mine on the other hand wouldnt catch crickets like that, so i switched to roaches, and even a roach fliling aound forever on its back, in the scorps dark hide didn't result in anything, but the roach burrowing, and while i was sleeping, then get caught as shredder was fatter the next morning how could i guess "train" him to eat while me watching just one time ONE TIME IS ALL I ASK!

oh, and does any1 know of someone who has a fairly consistant supply of groshpus ankaranas as i would kill to get one, but they are so hard to find in the u.s.

I don't think you can "train" a scorpion guy.

That's nature, it does what it needs when it needs to.

I believe a late night of patience and watching is most likely your best solution.

Yeah I agree, they are most active at night so its just being there when it happens is all.
Ive tried feeding my Emp with soft tongs before during the day time and he just dosnt go for em.
BUT having said that, if you do get some tongs (the kind they sell at Petsmart for example) and try and feed him when your scorpion is active, then youll have better results. Most of the time I can actually just hand it to him and he will grab it really quick and start munching away.

Another option, Ive found, is to pluck the jumping legs on the crickets before you feed em, then drop em right next to your scorpion, who will hopefully rush out and grab it.

This is what Ive learned so far, and Im pretty dang new at this myself.
