lol i have officially just made my first stupid mistkae with ekky, i was going to take him out so i could clean his tank abit, lifeted up his cork wood n turns out he was hiding under a plant n i startled him so iv now been stung by an emperor its a first lol i was shocked didnt hurt at all not compared to my hadrurus arizonensis any way

Welcome! Nice-looking emp you've got, but you can take out the water gel -- it's difficult for scorpions to drink from, and it's REALLY hard to drown an emp. Standing water is fine.

thanks, its a basic set up, i might replace the plants with plastic ones, cuz the live ones seem to tae u alot of room cuza the roots, cnt make it out in the pic but he has managed to dig a tunnel under the cork n a pit is under it aswell, altho he duznt do the typical lazy emp thing of waiting he actually hunts which shocked me then once he gets it he goes straight under the cork n eats in peace lol

yeah i know i do normally use water but i was given a lil tub by this dude at the pet shop and thought i would try it out for him and let him know if he should keep stocking it, i must say im not impressed with it my mexican red knee wont touch it neither will my emp even the crickets dont want it, dont worry it has been removed it was only in there for 2 days before i decided it was useless

When I was using Cricket Drink my Emp would sit on it a lot. My guess is that I didn't provide enough humidity for him at the time. I don't think they have the right organs/parts to take in that stuff. I've also read reports of Emps staying underwater for more than 10 minutes (maybe even hours).

lol thats funny n yeah iv read similar reports, i wasnt using the gel for more than a day i was just testing it iv finished doing so and it has been given 1 outta 5 stars as it is pointless and too expensive my friend probs wont stock it anymre.

lol i have seen that video, but i have to say tha i think there trying to encourage people to buy the gel i mean its about £5.00 for a 480g tub here so they can make good money and all it is is gellatine u could make your own very very easily, but yeah i rated it so lowly cuz nothing i have was interested i tried crix with it i gave em water at one end n gel at other they kinda ignored the gel plus personally i prefer feeding moist foods to crix instead of water obviously i have water avaialble but there greedy lol
