You are right about Euscorpius being difficult to ID.
The one pictured could definately be E. italicus. I have a group of 4 that were collected at Lake Garda, Italy and they have almost exactly the same colouration as the one above.
However, it is also possible that it is not E. italicus, although I'm betting it probably is lol.

It's abit tricky to count the trichobothria, but if you have a decent camera, or even better, a microscope you should manage it.
