| Am I in need of glasses, or does that little Lychas have a double metasoma?
Great pic documentation btw. I have observed similar mother "instict" with my H. swammerdami, while trying to relocate her, she got angry and grabbed one of the 2i's. As soon as she noticed it was "her's", she let it go.

I see two metasomas as well. Nice pics GS. Can you get more pics of the one with two metasomas?

| It definately looks like two metasomas on pic #3 and #6!!??!! And as always absolutely stunning pictures.
GS, how come you are able to observe so much interesting behaviour with your scorpions.
I have yet to have been lucky enough to observe one of my scorpions moulting, but you have witnessed, and documented, some amazing behaviour.
Is it that you have a really large collection so are therefore more likely to catch any interesting goings on? Or are you able, or choose, to spend a lot more time with your scorpions than the rest of us?

I still think you have some weird way of giving "orders" to your scorps Jokes aside... wish you luck in raising the "prodigy" into a healthy adult scorpion.

| 'Lucky'?? I don't think you ever leave your scorpion room haha.
I wonder if the 'double tail' is a hereditable trait. If it survived to adulthood would you try breeding it GS?

Usually not. Past hobbyists/scorpiologists have tried it (don't remember which species it was) and all young were born with one-tailed. It's a genetic abnormality, but most probably it's a recessive one, and therefore both "parents" would need to carry the same defective gene in order to pass it over to the next generation.

| I wonder if you bred a normal to a double tail, then bred the offspring back to the parent double tail you would get some babies born with the double tail trait?
I know nothing about genetics so I'm going to shut up haha. Anyway, I'm starting to sound like a snake 'morph' breeder which isn't good. God I hate snake morphs lol.
