At what stage did these guys go wrong with them? Everyone that I've discussed the topic with typically went wrong <4i, which leads me to believe a lack of water or humidity was involved. To a larger or more developed animal, morning dew may not be such a large factor for survival. However, dew can be a life saver for smaller individuals with smaller body mass, thus less time for a similar or slightly exaggerated evaporative rate to become fatal.

| They will be well worth the effort. Awesome little scorps and one of the pros of these are that they take so little space. Which really plays a role when your collection starts to grow a bit large. | |

| My plan is of course to start breeding them - i know its not as easy as H. Laoticus.. But i will give it a try! Since the first time i saw the O.´s i was in love. How big of a tank would it be for such a project? | |

How big of a tank would it be for such a project? I dont think they are that difficult to breed, just keep all their parameters correctly and leave them undisturbed then everything should work out just find. Enclosure size will depend, do you want a communal setup or keep each individually? I have had no problems with keeping them communally but ecooper on this forum had troubles with O.s.negebensis when kept communally where some of them started to fight with each other so it depends on how you want to keep them.

| communal tanks, all the way! but if there is some that cant stand each other, then they must just be split up in seperate tanks. i really wanna know as much as possible before ordering those beauties | |

| Well, I keep 2.3 of them in a 20cmx15cm enclosure. That sounds small but its like mansion in there for the five of them. | |

| 1.0 Parabuthus granulatus: They have some nice granulation on their metasoma, dont know if that is why they are called granulatus though. 1.0 Orthochirus afghanus. This pic was a bit out of focus so I changed some things and tried to give it a bit of a retro look lol. | |

| That granulatus is so beautifull! I love the colouration as well as the granulation. Those Orthochirus afghanus are so delicate (compared to the P. granulatus) Nice enclosure | |

They are very pretty indeed! They are also a joy to work with, still hoping for some babies later this year from a few of my females. - Parabuthus21 wrote:

I think one of the times I have been most nervous in my life was when I had to move these around into different enclosures lol. They are quite sturdy though from what I have witnessed.
