| Hello! I recently just got my first scorpion, a Asian Forest Scorpion. He/she is very calm and docile, and so far eats well and all is going smoothly. I know a bit about sexing them, shape of operculum and size of pectines, but I'm still not sure on this one. He/she is a bit small, unsure of age, but I would guess male. Is that correct? If not I was wondering if she might be pregnant, or just overweight. Thanks | |

| It's a male. The aculeus could have just broken off, or sometimes people at pet stores remove them because they think the scorp is dangerous otherwise. (The stupidity of people is stunning.) Also, that is not a H. longimanus. (It's a Heterometrus species, obviously, but it's not a longimanus.) | |
