| I need another brood of Hissers like I need a hole in the head, but it looks like that's what I'm gonna get in 2 to 3 months. It's time to separate the males from the females. (I should have separated them a couple of broods back.) Here are a few pics of the latest future mom transferring her ootheca. #1 #2 #3 | |

Lol, I know what you mean. I had one a few years ago.... Two days later I looked in the tank and I had about 40! (That was the end of roaches for me.)

| Brood sizes range between 20-40 nymphs. The newborn roaches are about 1/4 inch in length. | |

| Gestation length is 60-70 days. It takes 5 to 10 months, depending on temperature and food, to reach sexual maturity. Seven months ago, I started with 1 male and 5 females. I now have 13 males and 50+ females and nymphs. I separated the males from the rest of the colony yesterday. I now need to keep an eye out for any juvenile males in the colony reaching adulthood and remove them as well. | |

| I like roaches. I have a breeding pair of Gromphadorhina oblongonota coming in next week. The strange thing is that I could not for the life of me find any hissers locally...
At least you won't be running out of roach snacks for your pals anytime soon. | |
