| i don't know if it happened in battle, or a mean old cricket got a hold of him, but one of my Texas barks has only half of one of his pectines.... what does that mean for his future?? | |

| I'd have though it would do just fine with a damaged pectine considering some can do fine with missing legs or claws.
Maybe a pic would be good to see.

| The pectines are a sensing organ that sweep over the ground relaying data back to the scorpion....Worst case scenario will be that your scorpion will have degraded senses with regards to understanding it's environment....Maybe similar to someone who have diminished sight in one eye....Before tailor made glasses and contact lenses were about, people who had those sorts of disabilities would simply have learnt to compensate....I imagine your scorp will do the same with a broken pectine.... - Quote :

From your point of view basically, not a lot.....It won't affect his feeding and it won't affect his movement and as long as you make sure the correct environment is in his enclosure, it won't affect him thriving in any way..

| Great question. I took a pic of 1 of my scorps that had molted to 4i to see if I could sex it and low and behold it only had 1 pectine. I was going to post it and ask the same question. I've got my answer. Thanks!!! | |
