| Thanks man. Can anyone tell if the female is gravid? Or is she just fat? This is my first time breeding Parabuthus. | |

| Physical signs of embryos might not be easily visible on some species. You may, however, take note if the female exhibits behavior of a gravid individual. Refer to: Observations of a gravid female:Have you tried putting the pair together? | |

| Thanks man, yes, tried putting them together multiple times and each time the female would just move away and flick at the male with her tail. She is still eating like a monster and I dont know if she lingers at a high humidity spot as I dont have a water bowl for her, I just make a wet spot twice a week for her in the corner and I dont really check up if she goes there or not. | |

| Thanks for the update. Can't really tell from the pictures as body mass gained can be deceiving at times. A freshly mated adult female could attain this size within 2 weeks under continuous feeding. Probably halfway through her gestation.. i'm not sure, but i certainly hope it's sooner for you. You have to observe the occurrence of the other "signs" as only you get access to her daily behavior. She can be fatten up further. Keep her nice and warm with a slightly moist side at a tiny portion of her tank (e.g. less than 10% surface area), offering a heat gradient is useful for them. Brooding females drinks alot, fill that capful with water often. As long as there is unrestricted (but secured) ventilation, a small capful should not cause the humidity to exceed the healthy range. Gd luck | |
