I've got no fish, I don't actually like then either, but I've been wanting to make a planted tank for a long time.

it's quite hard to create planted tank actually, especially newbie like me. but after through lot of reading, i attempted to have a planted tank right now. hehe. i bought ADA 5 element then put all the powder in tank before fill the tank with sand. then put a DIY CO2 generator, but look like my tank doesn't need much co2 coz it only 1ft tank. lol.

Yeah, I know it's quite challenging but that's what makes it interesting. A well done planted tank is a great piece of decoration though.

ya true that,, it's more challenging than decorate terrarium.. don't how long my plant can stand. two of my fish died,, a green barb and a neon tetra. another bigger green barb chased the smaller one, make it stressed till die.. neon tetra had kamikazee jump out from the tank... luckily others still happy.

An Image I'm sure you've all seen, but nonetheless, my inspiration :-)
Currently doing a 30g paludarium, and am planning on coating the submerged driftwood in fire moss. The plants really add color and life to the tank that you just cant get any other way.

You are correct! He took a dead bonsai tree and grew flame moss on top, carefully grooming it as it grew. I would love to replicate that, but I know I lack the patience, lol

Oh nonono! I wish I could take credit for this masterpiece, but like I said, it was my inspiration, not creation, lol. The real mastermind behind it is Filipe Oliveira, you can view some of his other work here... each as beautiful as the one before it
