| Hey guys since im a total scorpion noob here ive got a few questions/worries. Ok well first off i got my second female emp 3 days ago and put her in with my other female and they got along fine untill last night i noticed that my original female hiding in weird spots and acting sluggish almost, could the new female have any effect on this?? Now i did change the tank around before putting them both in and they where both well fed that day. now onto my other question which might answer my first question.. is my emp gravid?? sorry about the pic's im using my friends camera and ive no idea how to use it at all! Thanks

| At the very front of the tank in the corner, not under and hides. | |

| As far as bedding down iw weird places that can be called normal...
Now your second concern: I won't say that this a definite but it may be coming near to a moult, the telson does look a little lighter than an adults, a clearer pic of the over all side view 'claw and stinger' would be of help. |

| First of all, "new" scorpions tend to seem a bit weird by comparison until they settle in. It's normal for them to not use a hide or burrow for the first week or two that they're in the new home. If she continues to be sluggish, though, that could be a concern. As far as her being gravid, that's almost impossible to tell with emps. She's definitely an adult though (sorry Thaedion ). Also, are you sure that both are female? | |

No problem, I couldn't really tell from the pics... good eye. I have some juvies I bought over the weekend, I'll take some telson pics and post them up for colouration comparisons. |

| at the moment your female doesnt look bursting. so she could just be nice and plump from a good feed. Carry on feeding her once a week and when she starts to refuse food *if she does* take a note on how long she goes without food and if she slims down, if not then yes gravid but if she slims down then no xxxx | |

| yeah im sure they are both female, well i was told when buying both of them that they where females. the reptile shop i use has been open for near 20 years now so im sure they know what they are talking about. its not the new one thats acting weird tho its the one that ive had for months(the one that might be gravid) saying that tho she seems to be back to normal today, but ill keep my eye on here and her eating and keep you guys posted! thanks for the help | |

| ok im having a few problems getting good close up shots of their pectines any tips from you guys would be great! so far ive tried with them in a plastic container and even on a sheet of glass... hmm maybe my friends camera isnt good enough.
also as i was just watching them roam about there, i noticed Akira(my original) doing what looked like flexing her claws, pushing them outwards. have you guys seen anything like this before?? | |
