Here is a video of my silly digger A.B. I always laugh at his moves
Vid#2 cracks me up.. Lolz But it clearly shows their reaction against substrate's vibrations. Great capture
Whats that hide made of (in vid #1)? It seems like something that i would use

The hide was made from some kind of wood decoration for flowers that I found in some flowers my girlfriend got. Hard to describe but it was a ball from compressed wood with shaved off top (looking as a pot). I just sawed it in half and got nice hides. Problem for Bicolor is that he is digging whole night around his terrarium and allways burries his hide in sand and again when day brakes starts to dig it out...

A neat hide
You mean your A.bicolor dig out and expose his hide at daybreak?

Yes. I think I managed to get just the right temperatura for the peak activity. Never a dull moment with this one.

Yesterday my second Hottentotta C. poped her joung and I was fascinated to see her gently pick up one of the liittle scorpions by its metasoma and lift it to her back (front part of the body with eyes). Didnt expext to see such thing from a arachnid...

It's always nice when you see something like this that shows how good maternal instincts the scorpions in fact do have.
I found it interesting that both my bicolors dig these sink holes and position themselves always at the bottom facing up as if they are waiting for pray to stumble down to the hole. Don't know if any of you guys had this experience with this spp but my 2 guys use this method pretty well in practice when I put an cricket or roach in there. Also it is a dead giveaway that they are hungry as when they eat they don't go back to the hole, instead the migrate to their burrow. I see now that the picture could be at the lower angle but to explain better it is a 45 degrees angle hole.
