Periplaneta americana Empty
PostSubject: Periplaneta americana   Periplaneta americana Empty10/12/2011, 1:44 pm

I bought 3 boxes of american cockroaches... dont really know why, perhaps because they are so feared in america that i had to have some... No No No
well, i need to know, can they swim/float?
i let one out into a plastic box to check if they could climb the sides and it was up my arm 3 times before i could get the lid on! i couldnt actually get the lid open on the box without it getting out. This problem was eventually solved when i shot it through the lid a couple times.
anyway, this has lead me to disliking these things for the moment and i wanted to know if i actually have a moat around their enclosure will it stop them or will they just keep struggling and floating until they get on to the outside?

does Vaseline stop them climbing? i imagine they can use their wings like helicopter blades and possibly also have fangs... Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

to be honest, as much as i liked the idea of having these, i now like the idea of throwing them in a fire... but i will persist, i hated tarantulas at first too...
