I got this second hand as a P. murinus.

Peloquin, where are you?

I'll try to get a better photo to post. It's got a big nasty attitude.

Maybe. I don't think it's black enough for that, and it's been kept very dry. It was raised from a sling in near bone dry conditions.

I tried to get her out in the open for a better picture, but she's super pissed now. She webbed her little log hide so that she comes with it when it gets picked up. Going to let her mellow out for a while.

If it helps with identifying her, she's got some iridescent green on the bottom of her front feet.

I feel like it's got to be something a bit more readily available in the US hobby though...

Does she stridulate (hiss) quickly when disturbed?
Looks very much like a Selenocosmia but a few species are practically identical.
Chilobrachys is another good call but a lot of them tend to have a browner hue about them.
andersoni are usually a bit lighter in colour but can be very dark just after a moult.

Yes. I startled it not long ago, and it hissed softly, but I definitely heard it. It did molt about three weeks ago.

Australian Whistling Spiders do hiss and they are quite venomous too. Pretty sure it is one now.

I think if I had to say a species I'd go for S. crassipes.
They are usually the easiest/ cheapest to get hold of from the whistlers.

Looks pretty close there. Thanks Pelo. So what's care like for it? Seems to be doing fine in dry conditions.
