| Any idea as to how to effectively breed crickets? I got 100 crickets in 2 critter keepers (about 50 in each) and I added some coconut fiber substrate and misted it. I also gave them a bottle cap with soaked toilet paper for water and another bottle cap with Fluker's high calcium cricket diet. They eat a lot and I saw at least 3 lay eggs already. Any suggestions or advice would be awesome. | |

| Just do a google search on "raising crickets" and you'll find plenty of good guides for starting a cricket colony. | |

| Not worth the aggro IMO. You end up spending more time looking after the pet food than the pets. They also stink. Go for roaches instead. | |

| Yeah, they started to smell really bad, especially after I gave them moist substrate. I got a 100 of them and I saw a few lay eggs. I'll have to try to get my hands on a few roaches. What kind would you recommend? | |

| Dubia dont fly/ climb. Turkistan dont climb, males fly a tiny bit. Lobster climb. All 3 breed dead easy, keep them warm n dry, feed them dry food and water gel an sorted. | |

| I agree with pelo, I've been keeping a colony for a couple of months, but it's just disgusting and not worth it. I'm now slowly feeding off what I have and I'm moving on to S.tartara and Dubia colonies. | |

| Dubia cause allergies (for me and many others), Turkistan and Lobster however are awesome. Lobsters have some stinky defense stuff they use if you grab them too hard. Both Dubia and Lobsters give birth too babies, the Turkistan however have an eggsack that they dump somewhere, which needs some moisture too hatch, i keep my Turkistan dry tho, and don't wanna know how well they would produce if keept moist ^^ | |

| Isn't the climbing factor of lobsters a problem? Won't they escape easier? | |

| I have about 10cm of petroleum jelly (vaseline) on the edge of the container, they can't climb through that | |
