yeah LoL ... 25 feet is high ... but the concrete viv would be cool in shinning's annex room even 6 feet would be excessive? i found the h.arizonesis content with 1 feet territory of their preference and some to explore(like soldiers maintaining a firebase )

Maybe you can use a combat boot as a hide inside of a normal viv?

Uhhhh... So, I'm trying to understand clearly what you are suggesting. A concrete zoo style viv that is six feet high with a combat boot inside it? Like a Lion cage for scorpions with a boot inside it for a hide?

yes he wants to fill a viv with cement and make pre made burrows in the cement and also have a boot in a different viv for a hide.
very innovative ideas.
very stylish.
very natural.
very cool.

If you need help setting up a proper enclosure for your scorps, just ask. I am in the Phoenix area, I would be willing to come help you in person, craft a nice setup for them if you need it. Maybe Shining will come drink a couple beers?

Make sure you get the right cement mix, there are types that expand a bit and learn how to check the slump of it for forming purposes. If you're serious about making one first figure out how you are going to make the forms to make the design you want unless you just want to make a bi level type thing with a few different pours over a few days. I work with concrete everyday btw just poured a bridge deck and both abutment ends for a major roadway in my home city and spent 13 hours today making barrier forms along the side of it which sucked in +31C heat

You don't concrete, just bring over some play sand and clay, whatever is in your cage currently, should be fine, also bring over a couple ceramic flooring tiles if you have them and maybe a slab of cork! We should be set with just that, please no cement!

On a more serious note, I'd love to see a big tank, with concrete or clay burrows from top to bottom. Make sure the glass you put it in, is strong enough to withstand the pressure of those 1000s of pounds of weight if you make it 6m high.
THis is what you're trying to do right? Otherwise I dont understand it... at all. But ok, dazzle us.

Actually the grout idea is a good one too, you can get some pretty solid grout mixes and then making the makeshift forms for your in tank designs would be much easier since you could just sculpt it to the right shape and use foam to keep it until it dries.

BACK ON TOPIC! the couple in the 40 gallon..
i theorize the sub gets cooler and more humid with its depth?
so i want to add a heat lamp timed from 9am to 3pm. the hottest time of the day. they can burrow to avoid the heat?
screen is super glued on. but would the heat lamp affect the glue? python glue label says it bonds everything, but it doesnt say heat lamp safe.
ready for slings!
dance my babies! dance!
az be coolin down starting next week at the moment the low is 85F and high is 94F in the viv.

I changed the areas outside of their patrols and burrows.
added temp gauge,
petco tank along male's burrow/patrol, tank's rear opens to wood burrow where he is sleeping, he can then he move out of the tank's hatch or follow the hide's other path, sand covered but it leads to the concrete half shingle stronghold
sorry bex moved the bandanna skull to the longimanus viv...
the central area has 2 large dunes lined by large but light flat stones, mealworm is below screen lid's feed tray opening
the female's area is the same, but i added sand to bury the crack on her fav concrete half shingle more
and at your local dollar tree:
i think my h.spinigerus will love the plastic viv! it's a huge lion cage for them and i will decorate them.
i bought 9 more to move my dubai colony into my drawers. i recently found out that i am allergic to the scent of their droppings, but i can bear it long enough to grab feeders for my scorps

i spend countless hours watching my scorpions, and i want to post every behavior that i witness. should i post here or make a new post?
room had only laptop light dusk. 10PM : female crawls out from high flat in her territory. male loudly pushes his dried moss door out. they both begin a counter-clockwise exploration of the viv. male loudly falls into mealworm dish. female climbs both hills and ends her exploration at the edge of the petco tank. they both meet at the back left corner, simultaneously the female drops her tail and poses it like a c.sculturatus, while the male's tail appears like an outstretched finger. he stops then continue exploring. she began burrowing under the mealworm dish, and the light dish fell of her. she burrowed out, climbed onto the dish and rested. male stumbles upon the female on his return home, falling more graceful this time with the female's arm within his pincher. her tail drops again. both pause. he stumbles over the hill and returns home. she rest a bit longer and returns home. he clenches a mass of dried moss and loudly walks backward into the wood burrow. he such a loud "drunkard"
posting a the latest viv pic when i get home from school.
