| Howdy, Ok, I fed Reaven (My G. Porteri) today and she did something odd. I have never seen her do this and I thought it was the coolest thing since the toaster. At first she destroyed like seven crix in a shot, holding them all in her fangs (VERY impressive) But then she dropped them all into a pile, tied it down with silk then wandered off. When I looked back a minute later and saw what she was doing, I almost choked on my pizza. She would wander off, Fang-rape a cricket or two and carry them back to the pile, tie them down with some more silk, and repeat the process. Literally stock-piling the bodies of the crix. Anyone else seen a T do this? I thought it was awesome! It was a great day for Wyatt and his monsters. | |

| Hmm is she really big? I have only seen my T. blondi do that regularly. He eventually went to the bodypile and sucked them all dry. | |

| My B. auratum does something similar. If I drop her 5 feeders, she kills all of them, keeping them all at once with her fangs, then drops them and eats them off one by one. | |

| It's hypothesized that it's reactionary behavior stemming from the feast or famine mentality. A sudden burst of food source, and the T goes into gold rush mode. Get it while the gettin's good! | |

| A lot will do it, especially desert/ scrub species. Usually once they are feeling full. | |

| LOL Thanks all, I agree with Street's hypothesis actually. It does make a lot of sense. She isn't overly large but she's the biggest spider I have ever seen in person. LOL. Maybe 3 inches across, a little more. IDK I will have to see if I can get a good measurement. | |
