| How common is it for emp's to eat each other?? As I thought they were happy living in colonies?? I have (had) 2 emp's living together happily for almost a year, (I bought them together aswell) I hadn't seen the smaller of the 2 for over a month, I just assumed it was hiding as sometimes they disappear for a while, so I decided to clean the viv out, I had seen the bigger of the 2 quite often, and there was a rottenish smell coming from the viv, and once all of the substrate was removed I still couldn't find the smaller one, so I can only assume it has been eaten, I couldn't even find any evidence of remains left in the substrate. Do they eat each other if there is not enough food?? As I had been putting crickets in for food but found to be removing them as they weren't getting eaten?? I was looking to increase the size of the colony but not sure now if they are gonna eat each other?? What can I do to stop this ffrom happening again??? | |

| Emperors and other scorpion species will eat each other if there is a lack of food and stress levels are high. You should only remove food that has been in their for 24hrs+. Temperature, Humidity, and environment should all be suitable as well. If all of these seems to be in order, then maybe you just didn't notice him in the substrate or he escaped. | |

| how much smaller was the smaller one? i think its best (if your doing a colony) to have them roughly the same size | |

| I cant see how he could have escaped, there is no where for them to get out, and definatley wasn't in the substrate, I sifted through it with a fine tooth comb just to be sure. The smaller one was only about quarter of the size. I wasn't sure of the sex of them either, if that makes a difference?? | |

| I couldn't find anything that resembles an exo skeleton?? I did wonder if it was too hard to be eaten??? If I remember one of the scorps molted not too long ago, could it possibly have died during a molt, and the other ate it whilst the exo skeleton was soft?? | |

| Pretty much claws bit of head and tail but I'm sire if I'd left it in he would have finished her off over the next few days, I've seen the euscorpious flavicaudis each each other fully not sure if it was already dead before the nom nom but all that was left was the tips of claws | |
