best place in europe for scorpion hunting?

Why not find the scorpions that lives in the UK ?

already have a few native Euscorpius..
i don't want to keep them, just go on holiday somewhere that has lots of different species

Well there are scorpions in alot of countrys, question is how far you wanna go? and even better how good are you at finding scorpions. You can find alot of differnt sp in southern europe, just look in the right places, French, Spain, Greece, You name it..

i think it won't be as far afield as like america, but i'd love to go to north africa, egypt or somehwere
i'd love to see some of those amazing desert buthids in their natural habitats.. not that i've seen a buthid up close

Greece, Turkey, Spain, Portugal for Buthids. For euscorpius you can go basically anywhere in the central & eastern europe.

i was looking about portugal since we go to the algarve quite regularly..
but i've never been when i've had an interest in inverts.
you get the pretty little Buthus occitanus in the western algarve

that´s cool tom. What town do you go to? I´ve seen occitanus in Vilamoura couple of times. They seem to enjoy that clay like hard reddish substrate there.

we stay in Albufeira, normally spending a couple of days in Vilamoura, only around the marina though.
