| Ummm... I don't know. I clicked it and looked at the larger picture, but it's still a bit too small to see any real detail. I'd say you either have an emperor scorpion, a Heterometrus species. Heterometrus are sold as Asian forest scorpions. Either was the care is roughly the same. Check out the burrow in ghana section. There should be a pinned thread at the top about basic care and frequently asked questions.
What color is the stinger?

| Well I'm sure you'll be doing fine for it, it's good to be inquisitive!
As I said before care for Asian forest scorpions is very similar to emperor scorpions. Go check the thread I mentioned.

| Yeah def. try for a better picture. I'm sure if it's an emperor we'll be able to identify it immediately, and if it's a Heterometrus sp. there is a guy Alex that could probably identify it for you.
I should mention that I have both an emperor scorp, and an unidentified Heterometrus scorpion, and I care for them EXACTLY the same way.

| All scorpions have them. They are called pectines. The feather looking things. | |

| They use them for smell and to sense vibrations in the ground from prey or predator. | |

| It's a heterometrus species.
Impossible to tell the exact species by that picture as Het's (asian forest scorpions) are alot of the time only discerned with the dullness of color, color under light (like a camera flash), and granulation on the carapace or lack there of. The only Heterometrus easily identified is male Heterometrus longimanus and that isn't one.
The commonly sold hets are H. spinifer and H. laoticus. From that pick an educated guess is a spinifer because the laoticus is more of a flat black and with that camera flash it seems like it turned out greenish. *petersii are close to spinifer but less common in pet stores*

| ^good deduction chrome wins the bonus prize of...... NOTHING i would never have been able to tell that. it's annoying how shops sell stuff as the common name, where i've got a couple of bits, they have the common name and a corresponding binomial. | |

| Howdy, I agree with Street's earlier post about either an emp or an asian forest scorp. No worries about being a noob man, you're in good hands with this gang. Strange and slightly scary hands, but good hands nonetheless. | |

| Pet shops should really learn what they're selling to people. I was in a pet shop buying crickets and came out with a "forest scorpion" as well. Turned out to be a psychopathic cavimanus. The same pet shop has a "tiger tarantula" and any question i ask recieves "dunno mate" and is a scabby looking thing anyway. | |

There was no camera flash it was just normal light outside. A clear close up from the top down of the carapace to see the granulation along with a light source like the one you used for that one. And yea, the light outside turned it a bit green which means not a laoticus.
