| lol :-) Happy bday to your son! Yes they are born today. Your son wants one? :-) They are still instar one. This means they live on the yolk inside them and when they are ready, they will moult into a "scorpionshape" with a hard exoskeleton and a stinger.
From then on, they're like miniature adults :-p Ravenous and skittish. Uncle Sam has to catch them with a small cup then, while evading an angry mom.
You are right! Right now they are like maggots

| Ha! I doubt that, he's not even sure about the Emp and he despises spiders & snakes LOL.
There is a yolk inside them? Do you possibly have a link to a good article to read about such a wonder? I have never come across that fact in my research readings!
Really do watch out for mom tho.

| Hmmm ill try to look some things up, no problem. I will dodge her!! Dont worrie. I've been into her cage before. They are actually more docile than bicolors... although more venomous. You can predict more or less what they're up to.
Still, easy to get misguided by their calm.. If I'm still here after a few months, you'll know it went well haha

| Actually I just found a good explanation.
If I quote something here, do I need to provide where I found it? Like the link?
Well the rules seem pretty easy so I think it's ok, but I'll link it anyway, but here is what it said
Biology/Life Cycle Scorpions mate in the fall or early spring. After an elaborate courtship process, lasting anywhere from 24 to 36 hours, it can take from five months to over a year for the eggs to mature within the female. Females do not lay eggs; the young are born alive in semi-transparent sacs. A female can produce anywhere from 14 to 100 young in one litter. Once the young scorpions free themselves from their egg sacs, they climb onto the back of the mother and remain there until after their first molt several days later. Young scorpions are nourished by a yolk material stored in their bodies and, contrary to hearsay, do not eat the body of the mother.
And it was found here: http://pods.dasnr.okstate.edu/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-2289/EPP-7303web.pdf
That's a pretty simple explanation I suppose.

| Thanks Fleming and DolbyR,
The moment of them moulting is very near. The dreaded moment of capturing the little ones is too. I already made an escape proof big tank to house them all in communally as I had great success doing that, before.
Its a very large plastic container without sealant, its a cast piece of hard plastic so they cant climb it. Pretty important if you have these around :-D
Will keep you posted.
Anyone wanting some, please tell me so I can get in touch with you through pm. I dont intend to keep more than 10 of these as I dont want accidents to happen.

| These are huge from birth. I measured one with a ruler on top and it was 2cm long. Almost as long as my i3 mauritanicus. | |

| I had the chance to remove them from the mother (they were hanging upside down on the ceiling of her burrow so they left her).
A grand total of 78 scorpions LOL, getting overrun by australis. Good thing a local trader is going to take half of them. He doesnt want them in his shop though :-)
