Give the scorp a day before giving up hope. 4 hours is not really that bad. Has he been in the same position for the whole time or has he been moving?

He has been on his back now for like 14hours, so i think he is dead.

Kinda knew he was little bit weak, guess they just die sometimes

True they do just die sometimes, but I've had them go for 8 to 18 hrs to molt. You never know.

It was a i2, poor little guy.

Most likely, it's no fault of yours, since your other specimens are able to molt successfully under the same environmental condition

An inclined bark is good to have to assist in molting for bark scorpions, but,at times, they may just do without one

Duration to complete her molt: One hour
Instar: Final molt to adulthood from 6 to 7.instar

Heterometrus are probably too heavy to do so.

I've observed a big difference between the molting "strategy" of buthids and Heterometrus.

While most buthids I've kept, kinda wiggle the metasoma to release the old exoskeleton (in the last stages of a molt, when most of the body is already released), still keeping the legs curled back, Heterometrus puts the legs in position and just slowly "walks" out of the molt. Pretty cool, that will need to be captured and documented accordingly

I noticed with my emps. They stay upright through out the molt as well.
