| Hi all I need confirmation whether this emp is an adult or a sub. Looks like adult to me, but just want to make sure. It's stated as 2-3 years old but I suppose it must be more than that. As the pictures are not my own, I am posting just the links. If they don't work, please let me know. Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 The guy in a local forum is asking around 15 euro for it, so it seems like a good deal, just worried about the real age though.

| If that is not huge I dont know what is. To me it seems adult. How far into adulthood you cannot tell unless it grew up at your place. | |

| Dolby, the telson looks quite red so it's an adult. As Pluto stated, no way to tell how long it's been adult though. | |

| Looks more like 15cm. I've asked the guy if it has molted while he had it. Just waiting for an answer. Either way, I guess I'll take it, hopefully I'll have more luck this time. Will search for an adult female too if I really take him. | |

| Gestation on those guys DOES take very long (I was wrong on the Andro one, but on this one I'm sure) Between 7-14 months as long as even 18 months in extreme cases. If you want to breed some, I suggest to take sub adults and wait untill they moult to be sure your female doesnt die from old age, while carrying kids. For the money he asks though, you cannot go wrong.. So if I was you, I wouldnt know what to do | |

| Haha no, not in a hurry at all. I'm still waiting my H.Laoticus to mate, their gestation is atleast relatively short.
I'm looking more into desert spp. breeding projects. | |

| That scorpion looked massive. My one isn't even half that size. Is breeding scorpions easy to do? Not going to do it. Just gathering info. | |

| Well, it depends a lot on the species etc. Emps and other forest species for example have a very long gestation period. Desert species usually have short gestation periods, but some might kill their cage mate before mating. I'm no specialist though, there are others in the forums who have bred few species and can give you advice if you are interested in doing it. | |

| I think it's an adult, but even so using telson color to check for maturity is still sketchy. | |
