Yes it is! And the great aspect of buthids is once you get few different species, you contantly have somebody molting or in premolt. Keeping scorpionidae babies is just too boring, they grow too slow. lol

I can not agree with that. They are both awesome in their own ways. But lately i'm enjoying buthids more. Anyway, it looks like it's a molt week for me. A third H. tamulus molted yesterday and atleast one M. caucasicus has molted at night. That's 4 molts in 5 days

| So, I've been promising pluto from almost 2 weeks to post these. Finally got the time to take the pictures. One of them molted a couple of days after they came. A second one molted monday evening. They do burrow like crazy so I couldn't get pictures of all of them. Only 1-2 are usually out, and other 1-2 I can see from under the cup. The rest are hiding somewhere in their burrows. - Androctonus bicolor "aeneas":
- A.bicolor freshly molted to 3i:

| How the hell is that even possible dude, I still cant believe it. They should not moult this soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
None of mine moulted and they are all brothers and sisters. Its great to see though You will have to teach me what you do with them to make them moult this soon.
Looking pretty healthy and (like they usually are) quite menacing with the pinchers right at you :-D
I think you give them miracle juice or you have something special going on with them. I scheduled these to moult around end september.

| Ok DolbyR,
I found out one here tried to moult too, but it died in the process althought it was completely freed from the old husk.
Too bad, but i think these things happen from time to time.... Anyway, I hope all yours moult well.

| That sucks. I hope the rest of yours, and mine all will moult well. Even if I lose any, the important is to get one pair grow fine until adulthood. They seem to be doing very fine though. Very active in digging The only one I actually had big problems until now were my B. occitanus. Had 6 die before moult and only one left. Hopefully it will moult fine. | |

| Yeah, I think you're right. I was keeping them on sand only, and it wasn't keeping moiture much. Since then, I've moved it into 50% cocofiber and 50% sand (not mixed though, jut one end is sand and the other one is cocofiber). So let's hope it will molt without problems. | |

Yes, they are! They are earth hogs. It is important for them to be able to dig as you can see.

| Thanks Bex. I've been looking for these for quite long. I would say it's one of the most beautiful european species. I've seen some greek specimens with more pronounced checkered pattern though. And these have a nice size too. Compared to other ones from the Genus, they're somewhere between martensii and caucasicus. | |
