| She's the calmest T I've seen until now. Really docile, haven't flicked even 1 hair until now (and I've handled her a lot since saturday). A friend of mine had a porteri too, but his is definitely feisty, and not for handling.
The concepcion is pretty docile too, just a bit faster than the rose... and she's the only specimen on this sp. here, got it through a friend from a more serious collector.

| Your collection looks to be growing quite nicely. I wish Hottentotta tamulus and villosus orange morph were available in the states. You may have to change the title of the thread from "modest" to something more fitting like "awesome" or at very least "impressive". | |

+1 I've never actually looked them that well.. I realized only now that the shape of the red/orange actully is like of a flame. Always thought the common name comes just from the colouring Now I need a B. annitha too

| It was published in bulletin d'arthropoda n.44 the last august. Quote from Eric Ythier: - Quote :
- The validity of species status of H.caboverdensis has been accepted in a recent note (Ythier 2011, A new locality record for Hottentotta caboverdensis Lourenço & Ythier, 2006, Bull. d'Arthropoda n°44, 8-11).

| Would I be correct to assume that the H. troglodytes is an adult female? AFAIK, male's metasoma segments are even longer.
It had stretched the tail out this morning. Approximate total length is 20-21 cm.

| Sweet new additions mate, I have a 4i H. paucidens which I've had since 2i over a year and a half ago!! The troglodytes does look female, males metasoma is seriously long. 2 potentially gravids for ya there if the paucidens is adult | |

| Nah, paucidens is pretty small, about 5cm body. I might pass by the place again the next days to see if the guy still has any troglodytes left and check if I could get a male too and try to mate them. | |

| Ah ok, one potentially gravid then and one definitely pre-moult. Don't hold your breath for that moult though, could quite a wait left lol
You won't be able to miss the males of these, they really stand out.

| Haha, yes. My I. dufoureius was about 6 months in premolt I think this one is still eating too. Will keep you posted on what happens with getting a male, although, as you said, she could be already gravid. | |
