So far so good for the tackle-box housing methods for all my desert scorplings. Fast growth and zero motality so far for this batch of 51.

They are raised from 2.instar and they are 5.instar in the vid below. As we speak, the 51 are reaching 6.instar soon.

Let me know if you guys wish to have more details on this tackle-box method.

I'll try to work on one. Enjoy Smile

GS, is your whole room heated or do you heat every enclosure seperately? If seperately, how do you heat the tackle box?

You're welcome bro.

In my opinion, preferred heating method is always done on a "room scale" if you have a delicated invert room.

It's much easier to have a centralize control switch on the temperature. Anyway, I have to take into considerations for my electrical bills affraid

Then how would the tackle boxes be heated if its not room controlled?

It depends on your preference. My suggestion may be just a simple one. You may have a corner of your room armed with Infra red heat lamp. If you have many tackle boxes, they can be stacked and placed near the heating element.

Place a digital thermometer on top of the stack to read the temperature so that you can vary the distance of the heat source to achieve a stable temperature reading.

This works for me to provide a slightly higher temperature gradient for gravid specimens as well.

There can be better ways of doing this of course.

Seems like I will have to switch to the tackle box method. At the moment I am using a temperature controlled tub which can hold up to 40 deli cups for slings.

What are you heating it with? And do you have connected to a thermostat?

I use 3 heat pads of 9 watt each so not strong heat pads. None are run with thermostats and so far all my molts have been 100% successful and no deaths either. If it gets too hot I simply switch it off.
I probably shouldnt have said temp controlled as I am the one controlling the temps Smile

Haha, yep. That was a bit misleading, and got me thinking if I should invest in a bunch of thermostats Smile

I'm running just some heat tape on my tub, it's around 25w or so. Works great as I can just set my deserts closer to the pad and my hets far from it to get the ideal temps for them.
