If you only get the outer layer with very fine tweezers, it might have more room to put its last energy into...

I've tried all of the above guys. He really didn't make it much past the initial opening of the carapace. Only the chelicera are out of the old exo, and he's very weak now. Barely able to muster the strength to slowly move the tail. Literally zero progress from when I found him yesterday afternoon. He's so tiny that I can't get in there with the tweezers without mashing the new exo. I'm afraid he'll sustain internal damages if I try much more.

I'm afraid all is lost on this ones life journey.

It makes me sick, and I don't know what could have happened.

dont take it too badly though. It is very unfortunate and yes I wanted to see it get bigger too. But you know, scorplings at that instar are very sensitive. Some make it, some don't.

It really has nothing to do with your cares, which is without a doubt, very very good.
They really only can die during a moult that goes bad.

You can give it time and let it die if it doesnt come through. Or smash it. I'm not really into the freezer method.

I understand you cannot help it manually. They are too tiny. Maybe with a needle it might work, but still...

Whatever you do now, it will be a right call.

Was he misted sometime in the past?

Yeah. I had been applying a few drops of water once a week when he started getting fat. When I realized that he was having a hard time with the molt I bumped the temp and humidity up as well. I don't think it was a humidity issue as the Hottentotta was just fine with her molt. I had given water yesterday morning before work.

I know that I did the best I could for it, which is what makes it even harder. I usually try to get multiples of the same species in case of scenarios like this, but this was my only bicolor sling. I was hoping that it was a him to raise for my 2 girls (at least I think they are girls).

As they say c'est la vie. I'll be visiting Roger for another sling when I get paid next week. Let's hope he hasn't sold them all off as I don't want to pay for shipping!

this stuff just happens.

Hopefully it'll go better for you next time, and hopefully your buddie Roger still has some left for you.

They are lesser known counterparts of the Andro species originating from Morocco.
I have an entire collection of books about them. They are all in French.

I will try to translate some of their contents concerning your questions.

Androctonus are not known to spray venom as far as I know, Parabuthus on the other hand...

It is said Parabuthus have a lot less nasty sting than Androctonus species. Well, I'd rather get stung by a bicolor than a transvaalicus.

I don't know why.. but they look more creepy to me

I would rather not get stung at all ......by anyone of them...........lol
some time this week I will be getting 5 A. maur. so tomorrow is set up time
they are about 3i or 4i.
now to just find some bicolors that I can trade A.As. for...........
once I get a few more of the Androc. that I want then I'll move on to Parabuthus
slowly getting out of Ts and getting scorps.
