| Yeah that happens in my frog tank sometimes, I should catch the beetles and feed them to my emp, but now I have a special mealworm dish so they cant escape into the substrate.

| When I was a kid, I had two horned lizards that I fed mealworms. Once, I left the tub on the on the windowsill, instead of returning it to the refrigerator, only to find it later full of beetles. It surprised the hell out of me until realized what had happened: metamorphosis. If I recall, the beetles were about 1/2 inch in length with half being red and half being black. The lizards seemed to enjoy the beetles much more than the mealworms. They actually had to run them down, instead of just walking up and munching. | |

| That is awesome! I'm gonna buy some mealworms and get a little plastic tank and let them turn into these beetles. | |

| Cool. How long do they take to turn? Do scorpions eat the beetles too? | |

| How long depends on high big mealworms are we talking about, and how high the temperature. I bought around 400 adult ones (around 2.5-3cm long) a week ago and most of them have already pupated at 25'C.
My Iurus has eaten a couple of times freshly turned beetles. He seems to like them | |
