| We got our Haddy from predator or prey dunno if they have any now though, we got a cool fake skull off eBay and got a alligator/ croc skull from pets at home, I found it's beat to get things meant for aquariums seem to be slightly cheaper | |

| i was shocked when i found out we had them in the uk, its mental really, been here for hundreds of years yet id never heard about it till last year lol, apparently came over from Italy on shipmenst of masonary! I have put them on a sand/cocoa fibre mix with slightly more sand than fibre, as didnt really know what to do with them as they live in a wall lol, i put bits of broken brick in for them to hide in/under i dont spray much just a little bit and they seem to do fine, what id really like to do is have a large but taller rather then wide tank and have the whole back like a fake brick wall, with cracks dug out for them to get into, maybe carved out of polystyrene or something, just so its closer to ehat they are used to, they are incrediably active, easily the most active scorpions we have, if you do go to get some the main thing you need is a blacklight/UV torch it is nearly impossible to spot them without one | |

| I got a couple of fake skulls from swallow aquatics if you have one of those near you, I suppose any aquarium place will do them or as said there's loads on ebay if you can await delivery. Can't seems to find any H arizonensis for sale at the moment, they get snapped up pretty quickly these days. Yeah this hobby is too easy to get addicted to, i'm pretty sure noone stays with just one scorp. I suppose once you have one it's not much extra work or cost to add another, and another.....untill you've allowed more room for tanks than yourself like me I really need to get over scorpaholics! On second thoughts that will probably end up with me getting more scorps | |

| It's worth a try mate. Wasn't that how you got your Haddy Bex? Probably worth giving the main invert suppliers a call or email. BugzUK, Virgina Cheeseman, Spidershop. Israeli gold usually implys Scorpio maurus which arnt meant to be to bad to keep although mine died recently so I can't really talk Other desert species i have experience with that I would recommend are Hoffmannius/Vaejovis spinigerus and Smeringurus mesaensis. It's just getting hold of them over here that's hard. | |

thanx ours are small too though only about an inch or so, so yeah certainly not large, that one at the show was huge compared to ours! My maurus on the black sand has recently dug himself out and started sitting at the entrance to his burrow again, waiting for prey, but the other 2 are in burrows that has colapsed, they are alive coz we can see them by the glass but they are not bothered about eating or anything...weirdo's lol | |

| Yeah mate S. mesaensis is commonly called a Dune scorpion. You'll slowly get used to using the scientific names, I can even spell all the species I keep now lol it's mainly because most common names could actually be several species. | |

| yeah any hide will do for now,
they are pretty simple to keep, our tanks are 8x8x12" with 4" of sand/excavator clay mix, small shallow water dish, you dont really need a hide as these guys burrow like mad, but its always good to have soemthing in for when they first move in to reduce stress spray about once a week, temps should be about 24-30c Some people say they are communal but from what ive read from people with experiance they really are not, we have ours in 3 seperate tanks, its not worth the risk really
i have found these care sheets
