Another new Emp. Empty
PostSubject: Another new Emp.   Another new Emp. Empty3/14/2011, 4:47 am

After my last emp died a long while back from some kinda seizure problems, which a few of you may remember me asking about, I got another about a year ago and have had no problems. But i moved a few days ago and with no heat lights my girlfriend noticed mold. So today we went to get all new substrate and I ended up buying another emp almost perfectly the same size as my recent emp. I believe my new emp is female, which I'm sure my older one is male. After cleaning the tank completely and adding new hides, I introduced them to the new place at the same time. After a few tense minutes I believe they are gona get along just fine. Pics to be posted soon if I can remember how or get Mr. Mordax to help again, lol. Now I'm living in Kentucky and hoping someone can tell me where to go hunting for local scorpions. Please feel free to move the last part to another thread so we dont take away from our precious emps !

Since I'm new to the communal stuff though, is it normal for the both of them to want to share the same hide and be stuck together all the time ?

I recently got a second one, and they do share the same hide all the time which seems fine to me. Although the second one stays underground more than the other one which means its happy, I'd say your situation is perfectly normal.

I have a male and a female Emp living together too. My male is full grown but small, and my female is larger and sub adult. They shared a burrow for the first 2 weeks after i bought the female, and have just started sleeping alone. My male tends to stay in his tunnels that he started constructing a few days ago, and my female likes to stay hidden in the back of her cave.

Its good to hear they are getting along!

Thanks everyone. They seem happy and are digging burrows like crazy, although I think she's doing all the digging and he's just taking over the burrow, lol. But everything seems great now.

Yeah I've noticed that too. My female emp does a lot of the burrowing, and the male justs comes and takes it.
