| The fast old world spiders are my favourite. I hear pokies Are very quick and like to dash up your arm.
Both my scorps are pet holes. The cav comes out for a stroll and climb at night sometimes. Don't think he's up for being handled. Seems very aware of my presence. Pretty mad wee thing lol.

| imho pokies are much more dangerous than buthids (if they are kept right). Agreed a sting might be way more serious than a pokie bite, but the fastest buthid is only half as fast as the slowest pokie.
Dont underestimate the climbing. They climb as fast as they run. I'm falling into repetition lol

| Did it give you a fright bex. Imagine a buthid as fast!
Tom I'd get one. They're really nice. You know the script you have to be careful with em. The pokies bite will cause cramps among other things. If it decides to dash and bite then that's gonna happen lol.
Some T's are very fast. The bites are painful but other than that that's all they got. They aren't dangerous so that excludes them from the DWA. Some buthids are and it's easier just ban all of them. That's a lot of scorpions. I however disagree with the DWA laws to an extent. Tigers are very dangerous lol.
Pluto. You could own a king cobra right?

| yup.. not a good plan though! was offered a bitis gabonica not too long ago. However, somewhere i still have a brain! These animals are readily available. In contrast too TERRIBLE scorpions, these ARE lethal... A bite is enough to kill you 30 times over.. | |

For some the pros outweigh the cons.
I don't in any way encourage it.

| I love pokies and i have had some before, and i am WAY more afraid of having scorps that can kill you with their sting, than a teleporting pokie. All the pokies i've had have never been aggressive or biting, except one (p. formosa) He was a sick bastard and tried to kill EVERYTHING that went in his cage. He actually pulled the tweezers out of my hand once and dragged it back into the cage. The tweezers had rubber on the tip wich he penetrated with his teath and i could actually see the venom afterwards. (Yes i managed to get it out wearing a owen glove and an aquarium net xD). All the other pokies i was able to handle and i let them walk all over me (p. regalis, p. subfusca and p. miranda). Anyway, i am NOT planning on having any androctonus or other dangerous species of scorps... ever. But one of my highest wishes is to some time in the near future own a p. metallica These are without doubt the most beautiful arachnid in the world! | |

| If you dont mind me asking where do you get your scorpions from? My jaw is dropping at some of these. The next one in my plans is a H. paucidens. My scorpion collection is growing slowly, but surely. | |
