Hello fellow scorpion enthusiasts,
I recently found out that one of my Babycurus gigas females gave birth to ~4 scorplings, she was very skinny before she gave birth. The weird thing about this is that she was exposed to a nearly unlimited food supply through gestation, yet was very reluctant to eat any of the prey items I offered "lats and dubia". Has anyone else with previous Babycurus breeding experience find that the gigas species tends to be very picky when it comes to prey selection? I've bred several different genus "Centruroides, Tityus, Parabuthus, ect" and have never had this kind of trouble fattening a female prior to her giving birth. The female that gave birth is not old, in fact this is her first brood and I know her precise age. Does this species typically produce smaller broods for the first birthing like some species do or is this just a freak occurrence? Thanks in advance to all who reply
