Orthochirus is a very cool genus. Unfortunately, they take forever to mature. I actually gave that male to a friend of mine who had a few females of the same species. I'm really hoping he gets a few broods from the pairings.

Great pics, even greater animals! You Mauretanicus doesnt seem to like you though haha.. They all are fresh and healthy looking. The judaicus is a stunner. What will be the next purchase?

Providing I have enough room to fit anything else amongst the madness. I'm probably going to be pretty selective and only pick up something if its totally worth it for me to purchase. I do have a lone female Odontobuthus dentatus that I wouldn't mind picking up a few more like her. Sadly, none of my scorpions really like me too much even though I give them plenty of tasty little lateralis to crunch on.

Yeah, its taken a lot of effort on my behalf to grow my collection and keep the cultures reproducing so I'll continue to have the species in the future. I wish I had the same interest in the Leiurus genus that you did. As far as my favorite desert type genera that I keep, it would have to my Parabuthus or Hottentotta

Parabuthus are cool but still kinda weary after getting tagged by P.transvaalicus a few years back that really sucked. But I have been thinking of getting a P.liosoma for a while prob get that then maybe another spitter. Maybe down the road a Hottentotta trilineatus they're pretty awesome looking great colors and patterns.

Dude I might be wrong, but that is no Androctonus Mauritanicus... or not an instar 6 but 4 or something.

And then some, they look different... and far less glossy.. It is a buthid, but doesnt look Androctonus species even. It looks more like a very young Parabuthus tbh.

Mind you the picture might give a wrong image of the scorpion.. So do you have other ones of it?

I assure you they are mauretanicus. I have a 3.2 group of them. They have a tendency to retain a relatively skinny metasoma until 7i, then at 8i their tails are fully expanded. I've raised them since 2i. I'll post some more pictures later tonight after I get some shots while feeding them.

Those jayakari are by far my favorite scorpions in my collection and I have a 1.2 trio, so I'll definitely be producing these relatively soon.

Yeah, I believe all the mauris mature at 8i. I currently have 2 x 8i males, 1 x 7i male and 2 x 6i females. This is the first time I've kept this species, its been pretty educational thus far.

Dude, the timing with the P. trans broods was poor for me. I want them, but couldn't at the time. The jayakari though... I'll MAKE it happen. I'll eat Ramen for a month to get my hands on those! Top of the list...
