| Awesome pictures Shawn! i love the bright orange on that OBT.
Excellent pictures of H. Spinigerus as well. They look really proportional in terms of their mesosoma and metasoma. Neat!

| Thank you Sir Yeah, I think these H. Spinigerus are a little under appreciated. I love the look of this species and even when they were replaced as a communal set up with H. Trilineatus I still find myself going back and spending hours staring at the H. Spinigerus. Soon enough you will have some too Fortunately they are common in the SW States here and are available for very cheap. From my experience which is batting 2 broods for 2 broods, they have huge broods too. One 40+ the other 50+! The OBT's keep getting more beautiful too in my opinion. This is the first time keeping these so I have never seen an adult in real life, so I'm getting more and more excited as they grow!! Thanks for the compliments BTW the father of the slings who RIP was munched after doing the duty the 2nd time was a great looking scorp too! He was fearless and was always checking stuff out in the viv, very cool to watch! I was very bummed to lose him as he always seemed to have a little more spunk than the others. If genes work the same way in scorps as with homo sapians these babies will grow up to be pretty darn cool too!!

| Nice one buddy, this is where you've been hiding all the pics! Been waiting to see some since the babies. Enjoyed looking through the ones in the show off your enclosure thread too, great set-ups and rack. Keep em coming, your collection is coming along nicely.
I agree that H. spinigerus are underated, I see mine alot more than any of my other scorps, always on the hunt. Yours are really good looking, i'v noticed mine is alot lighter in colour than yours and not as many markings. Your babies will grow into lovely scorps, got any h. spins baby pics to compare to mine?
Hows the camera treating you? looks like you're getting on with it well. I'm in the process of deciding what macro lense to get and its tough.

I will get some more pics of the babies next feeding. The H. Spinigerus babies are a little more bland then the H. Trilineatus babies, but I'll post a bunch of new pics up either way. As for the color of mine, they really seemed to come out a lot darker after those broods. Both of them were that way. I don't get it but I sure do love it!! Camera's going good. I'm trying to get some insight from some people I have met that are big photographers. I still need to get off the default settings and am still looking for a good macro lens! - GS wrote:

About the OBT, how big is it now? her color really attracts attention!! Yeah, he was my favorite Oh well he gave me many gifts before he left so his loss was not in vein at all! My OBT is about 2" I believe, it is hard to tell and to be honest I'm not 100% sure on how to measure a T. But her leg diameter is about 2" maybe a tad bigger. Definitely a beautiful species! Need one of those Could always include one of those in the deal

ok sweet, i'd like to compare my babies with yours as they're about the same age and i only have a few to compare. Mine too are quite bland compared to the parent. have any of yours moulted to 3i yet? I'm pretty sure mine hasn't but looks ready to pop. Good, yep i'm struggling to bring myself off the auto modes but i still don't fully understand all the settings in full manual. Im finding it hard deciding on the lens cause you know how it is, there's always a better one up and where do you stop. Gota just get what you can afford at the time I suppose.

| Bex, I use a Cannon 500d they are pretty much the same except a couple more megapixels on the 550d, which only really become useful when blowing pictures up huge. I'm getting along with it well, the auto modes are there to help you learn and slowly progress you over to full manual. Iitomodachi has the Nikon equivelant and he seems to be doing well with it too.
Remember that you will inevitably want more accessories like lenses, tripod, flashes etc..

| Lol, I'm looking for macro lenses now and they are expensive! I have to upgrade some stuff on my computer - solid state drive for the os - 8 gb ddr3 2000 ram so that is putting a dent in picking one up. I'm thinking I'm going to get stuck spending more 500$ on one. Then I need both a good zoom lense and a lense for taking pictures of very low light so I can get some cool glowing shots like DLP Bex how about I send you my manual and you can teach me how to use my camera I may have to go look for a class or something. | |

| well my fiancees colleague says that going on a course is pointless he's done a few and it taught him nothing that you dont learn by trial and error... i was looking into doing a course at local college in the new year its only £70 odd for a few weeks part time training....still haven't decided...thinking of that as a career path once the kids are older.... photographers must earn a fortune based on what i have to pay for school photos lol | |

| Well they sure do charge a lot But the equipment is very expensive you could probably spend close to 10,000$ to be set up professionally if not more! Also have to keep in mind that it isn't just going out and shooting pix it's a lot of sitting at a computer putzin with images. If you like that sort of thing go for it! I love to take the pictures I do not have the patience to organize and doctor them up later though. I have taken over 2000 pictures since I got my camera and in the past month look at how many pictures I've posted up | |

| I hear you, that may very well be the profession for you. The great thing about that stuff is that you can start it off as a hobby then a side job and once things get rolling then commit to it as a new profession.
My Dad was always into photography too. Same sort of thing. I'm luck though in the sense that my son can remember my Dad as he passed a couple of weeks before my son's 2nd birthday. That's a hard loss to deal with so I definitely feel for you and understand where you are coming from. You can always keep his memory alive with the kids. I have a photo album with all the pics of my dad and my son and he loves it. Hard to talk about at times but my son will never forget!
