PostSubject: Feeding schedule?   Feeding schedule? Empty11/7/2010, 1:45 pm

Just got my son a new baby emperor this weekend and I was wondering

what kind of feeding schedule would you recommend for a 3 month old?

Thanks for any suggestions

when my flat rock was that size i was feeding it on pinheads or 1st instar crickets about 2-3 times a week. id feed it on the monday give it a couple of days and feed it again. also dont be alarmed if your scorpion hasnt eaten much, they can go weeks without food sometimes(just take out the cricket and re-offer it a couple days later)

+1 to Manser

For me.. only experience i have now is with my Lychas Scutilus babies.. I just dump in a handful of pinheads (2-3mm in size) and let the scorplings take their own time to hunt.. But if you suspect a molt coming up soon, i would advise tong feeding.. so to minimise the chance of your scorp being munched on when its molting..

Btw is that baby emperor is really cute and tiny. Its amazing how they can grow from that to amazing size with powerful chelas!

Hey, I didn't know you were on here Viking Princess, you are on IG right? Welcome to SF Smile

+1 for Manser's response also. I usually feed my scorplings every other day. Sometimes 2 days in a row and sometimes I wait a couple days.

Some of the scorplings liked cut up large crickets but I think they all love pinheads the best. That's just my experience.

Congrats on the new babies!

Thanks for the help guys and yes I'm on IG too ty for the welcome...

There is a lot of info online about the emperor but wasn't sure how to feed this one since he's so small. The picture though is of the Euscorpius sicanus I also bought but they are actually both the same size only my Euscorpius sicanus is apparently full grown so cute!
