| try the heat mat on the back of the tank... emps burrow to escape the heat, so the heat mat underneath is pretty much negating that if the problem persists, see how difficult it would be to maintain temps without the mat | |

| Get rid of that bark and put in coco fibers...you can add some of the bark to the top soil but please get rid of that stuff....They cannot burrow nor will a burrow stay up if your using that... | |

| Looks like a healthy scorp to me. One of the reasons the bark is drying is because the bark chips themselves are really bad at holding humidity. You should look up coco-fiber as a substitute for the substrate. It holds humidity very well and also allows the scorpion to burrow in it, too. It's also suggested that the heat mat be placed on the back or side of the tank because placing it on the bottom may be problematic for the scorpion when it burrows. If you do these two things you're good to go By the way, what does the scorpion woman tattoo symbolize? | |

My starsign is scorpio so i think thats why ive always been a bit fascinated by them and had the tattoo done last year. Still needs a bit more work done. kind regards Rach

| Yea, terrible thing is that most stores that sell scorpions know next to nothing about them and just make stuff up. Makes one almost want to punch a kitten. Had one broad at the store tell me that if you are too scared to handle your scorpion then you shouldnt have one because she somehow wasnt aware that theres more than one way to pick up a scorpion, especially buthidae if they escape. | |

| sub adult... but i cant tell you how many molts its got left before adult... when the stinger is blood red, its an adult
my female that just died was almost 7 1/2 inches from the tip of the stinger to the tip of the claws so that should give you some idea of how big its a possibility of getting
