| Lol, I pick up my spiders but don't pick up my scorps I don't pick up the spiders much though, don't really want to stress anything, that's sort of my belief on handling these things. I have to say though, I'd feel much better about attempting to pick up my Hottentotta's than I would my H/V Spinigerus, those girls tag anything anytime and the Hotty's just buckle down and freeze and are real reluctant to strike. I may hold the Spinifers when they get bigger though as they seem real mellow too and they will be significantly larger. I guess it seems to me that T's are a little easier to get to back up onto your hand and you can often tell when most species start posturing where is all my scorps whenever they tag it's out of no where with no sign at all. Definitely get pics up folks | |

| Haha beat ya to it! I'd been waiting for a dune for a while now and spidershop got them in so knew S&F would have them too. They are still on spidershop if you did want one, I just rather go down there and get it that day and cause I wanted to see about the T.
I handled the T last night when i was transferring it to it's tank and the only scorp iv held was the H. madraspatensis but thats tiny. I'm yet to be tagged by anything.
I'm with you on that iitomodachi my spinigerus can stay well away from my hand, vicious! I also noticed you're now swimming in them!! lol nice one

| i think the thing that i dont like about them is that you cant see their fangs, with a scorp you know when its gonna go for you(most of the time) they go in there defnsive posture but with a spider it could be on your hand and then bang its bite ya and you wouldnt of seen it coming. | |

| Very true mate. I also think T's seem more unpredictable ( this is probably an extremly nooby and generalised statment) perhaps its just being new to T's.
Oh yea I got something else from scalesnfangs too for my birthday from my girlfriend. Two tiger salamanders, sorting pics now.

| Get the pics up From the few t's I've handled and other's I've noticed, they go into a defensive posture first where they lift their front legs up and show their fangs I've read though that OBT's are known to just tag out of no where, and sometimes come at you running though. I would research specific species though as I'm assuming there may be some variance with others. For example some of the new worlds will flick hairs before anything. My scorps will buckle down and do nothing, I haven't seen a lot of posturing. My H. Spins however will throw tails up and hold their chelea up and out, kinda cool when they protect the one that just molted that way really neat to see that! That's just what I have at home though, a lot of other scorps my do more posturing. And yes Jamie, all of the spinigerus seem to be little ruffians! And swimming would be a correct statement. 66 babies +2 Adult fems and the Hotties are now 52 babies and 5 adults :/ I'm lookin' for that 40 gal for the Hottentotta's now Jamie - as for your statement about T's I think it would be more noobish if it stayed generalized but like scorps each species is different and even after owning a bunch of any one species you may notice different characteristics in individuals too such as Rose Hairs - they are a crap shoot; some will be hating the world and others will be docile and mellow. Of course this is my observation | |

| Wow your collection really has exploded! at least the Hottentottas are communal. I only have a few of my spinigerus babies left the remaining ones are doing great though. I understand what you're saying about the Ts, that it comes down to the individual. It's all new to me. | |

I understand what you're saying about the Ts, that it comes down to the individual. It's all new to me. Exploded is an understatement It's fun though, I'm thinking of keeping them until spring now as it is getting pretty cold to ship. I trying to get another few B. Jacksoni from Nynoname but am worried about the weather and spending that much on shipping for the heightened potential of losses. I had 3/5 survive before and think it was due to the cold and the fact that the scorps were so little. As for babies, I was down under the 20 mark and content with keeping a few and had a bunch spoken for but now that jumped back up. :/ As for the T's and Scorps stuff from before that is just my opinion/observations and limited experience. I have had T's before I got into scorps but am still relatively new all in all myself.
